New Gymnasium Almost Complete

The Piarist School gym, a project that has been in progress for almost two years, is finally nearing completion. There is still work to be completed before it is ready to be unveiled completely, however, we have some exciting news.

In December, the Piarist School will welcome Bishop John Stowe. He will be celebrating Mass with the students and faculty and blessing the new gymnasium before the Piarist Knights basketball season kicks off. WYMT will be broadcasting coverage of the opening game from our campus for the very first time.

As our school exists solely on donations, the gymnasium could not have been built without the help from our benefactors.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality for our students.

Piarist Outreach Gearing Up for Christmas Program

Audrey Collins, Piarist Outreach Director, is hard at work organizing names of families and children in the surrounding counties who will receive two store-bought gifts from our many volunteers and benefactors around the country. Collins organizes hundreds of names of children by location and coordinates with various organizations and volunteers from multiple states to ensure that children who are living below the poverty line and would not otherwise receive a Christmas gift, will be able to celebrate Christmas this year.

The program is in its 15th year under her guidance and each year it increases in size.

Collins states that she has already received the names of around 900 kids for this year but she expects that number to increase before November.

If you are interested in sponsoring chil...

Piarist Students Participate in Nationwide Walkout

Dozens of Piarist students participated in the nationwide walkout this morning to bring awareness to school safety and to pay tribute to the 17 victims of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

These students stood outside for 17 minutes with various members of the faculty and staff alongside them. Senior students led a chant calling for change, a group prayer, and a moment of silence for the victims and their families.

We are all honored to stand beside our students.

Piarist Outreach Christmas Program

The Piarist Outreach Program has worked for over 20 years providing clothing, household items, emergency home repairs, school supplies, and more to the families in eastern KY. One of the most important parts of the Outreach Program is the Christmas Drive. Outreach Director Audrey Collins has been working for months with local agencies, local families, and schools across the surrounding five counties to gather names of children living below the poverty line who would not otherwise receive a store bought gift. The project is massive and takes a lot of planning and help from volunteers across the country to carry out.

This year, over 600 kids in the area will be receiving two store bought gifts delivered to them by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Mrs. Collins herself...
