All students who took an AP test in the 2016-2017 school year can access their scores online at 8:00 am EST on July 7, 2017.

Students will need to visit the AP Score content on the CollegeBoard website and log in with their credentials there.

Federal Aid Programs May Help Students Interested In Health Careers

The federal government offers several financial aid programs that may help students interested in health care careers pay college expenses.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has four scholarship programs:

  • National Health Service Corps Scholarship: For students who plan to become physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives or physician’s assistants.
  • National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship: For students interested in careers in biomedical, behavioral or social science health-related research.
  • NURSE Corps Scholarship: For students accepted for enrollment or enrolled in a registered nurse program at an accredited school of nursing in a U.S. state or territory.

Appalachian Wireless Scholarship Now Available

Appalachian Wireless, a division of East Kentucky Network, LLC, offers a scholarship program to help students with higher education expenses.  Appalachian Wireless has provided $60,000 to graduating seniors since it started the program.

The scholarship is open to students who are Appalachian Wireless customers or whose parent or guardian is a customer of Appalachian Wireless.  Interested students are asked to visit the Appalachian Wireless website or call Crystal Hamilton at 606-339-1126 or 800-438-2355 ext. 126.

Financial Aid Workshop

Jamie Bannerman from the University of Pikeville will give a free financial aid workshop for students and their parents on how to complete the FAFSA application.  This document must be completed by. all students before they can receive college financial aid packages.  The workshop will take place on Tuesday, November 26 at 6 pm at the School.  All are welcome to attend, especially juniors and seniors and their parents.
