The Piarist School Outreach Program is having a   “HUGE YARD SALE”
July 29th through August 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The yard sale will take place in the gym at the back of the school, located across from Porter Elem. & Davis Produce in Hager Hill, KY.

Backpacks, Shoes, Household items, Blankets, clothing, Dishes and much more will be available.

3 shopping bags of clothing for $5.00

All other items will be priced individually.

Shopping bags will be provided for your convenience.

Coach Kevin Tackett named Athletic Director of the year for the 15th region

We want to wish a huge congratulations to Coach Kevin Tackett for being named the Athletic Director of the Year! Sixteen Athletic Directors across the state received this honor and Coach Tackett was the Athletic Director named for the 15th region.

Coach Tackett works tirelessly to ensure the students get every opportunity possible and we are so excited to share this news.

When asked today to pose for his photo, he simply stated, “I want to take this photo with the student athletes because they’re the reason I do what I do.”

Senior Brennen Mullins awarded prestigious Singletary Scholarship

We want to wish a huge congratulations to senior Brennen Mullins for receiving the Otis Singletary scholarship award from the University of Kentucky. This is a very competitive scholarship that requires the highest level of academic excellence and awards full tuition for all 4 years and a $20,000 housing stipend for the freshman and sophomore years. Brennen will attend the University of Kentucky in the Fall where he will major in Civil Engineering.

We are so very proud of you, Brennen! We know you’ll do amazing things.

We want to extend a very heartfelt congratulations to junior Grace Orsborne for her acceptance into the Governor’s Scholar Program.The Governor’s Scholars Program is a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising seniors. The Program originated in 1983 as a result of Kentucky leaders’ concern that the state’s “best and brightest” were leaving the Commonwealth to pursue educational and career opportunities elsewhere without fully understanding the potential of their talents at home.

The Program’s mission is to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders.

Sophomore Emma Stewart named to Governor’s School of the Arts


We are very excited to congratulate sophomore Emma Stewart on being accepted into the Governor’s School for the Arts. This highly competitive program is incredibly selective and rigorous.

For three weeks every summer, over 200 of Kentucky’s most talented and creative high school students are invited to grow and learn together at the Governor’s School for the Arts’ college summer residence program. Sophomores and juniors in high school are offered in-depth instruction in one of nine artistic disciplines: architecture + design, creative writing, dance, drama, instrumental music, musical theatre, film + photography, visual art, and vocal music.

We want to extend a huge congratulations to sophomore Spencer McGraw for being accepted into the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership conference and the 2019 Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute. The Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute’s purpose is to develop future business leaders and entrepreneurs in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. High school freshmen, sophomores and juniors from throughout The Center for Rural Development’s 45-county service area in a highly competitive process. Entrance Exam

We’re continuing to gear up for our next school year.

The next entrance exam for students entering grades 6-10 will be given Saturday, April 6 at 9am. Any student who is wanting to take the exam should arrive 15 minutes early to fill out an application.

Senior Abigail Rosys is named National Merit Scholarship Finalist


Abigail Rosys, a senior at The Piarist School in Hagerhill and daughter of Gary and Jean Rosys, is one very happy student after being named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. But, it is an honor that began for her over a year ago.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, roughly 1.6 million students take the PSAT each year. This test is the first step in a long process to this prestigious scholarship. From the over a million students, 16,000 are named Semifinalists. These Semifinalists must then go through an application process which includes writing essays, getting recommendations, and taking the SAT. Students who show a very high academic record and score well enough on the test will then be promoted to Finalist...
